Each of us likes to think we are different (we are) and as real estate agents go, yes, I think I am different. I am a hard core solution seeker. Tell me what you want done and I will do my best to make it happen... on time and on budget. I dislike delivering surprises so I work hard to make sure there aren't any.
My background:
I am a 5th generation south Texan. My family settled in the New Braunfels area (just north of San Antonio) about the time of the Texas Revolution, so my roots in the community run deep. Despite the fact that my father's Air Force career (I'm named after Randolph A.F.B.) and my own business career have taken me to many parts of the world, San Antonio has always been home.
After graduating from Texas A&M University (like my grandfather, uncle, son and daughter-in-law) I worked here as a television news correspondent for CBS and KENS TV. My specialty eventually shifted toward corporate communications and information (including graduate school at the Wichita State University, Graduate School of Business). In 1984, I returned to San Antonio as Director of Accounting and Data Processing for a corporation headquartered here.
My new employer had heavily invested in historic properties in the Caribbean to take advantage of dual tax shelters. The company was losing large quantities of money--a fact that I had to report every week. Tiring of my reports, the CEO gave me the "opportunity" to fix the problem. The lure of island beaches at company expenses won out over common sense, and I accepted.
To everyone's' surprise (especially my own) I was able to make the operation profitable and completed renovation of the 250+ year old buildings. After 7 years of living in 2 places (I was still running the accounting operations in San Antonio) and rebuilding virtually everything following Hurricane Hugo, I jumped ship. A friend talked me into following my love of real estate as a permanent career. I joined Best Homes GMAC Real Estate as an agent in mid-1991. In 1999, I earned my Texas Real Estate Broker's License and in 2003, my Mortgage Broker's License. Also in 2003, I joined dynamic new start-up real estate company--Noble & Hicks Properties. This new company has become one of the fastest growing real estate companies in our city's history. And, they have allowed me to become more involved in commercial real estate and investment property.Who buys a home from an accountant?
This was the question I asked my friend when he encouraged me to become a Realtor. And, I'm still not sure of the answer. In my first full year in the business I closed over $2 Million in residential real estate, $3 Million my second year, and over $4 million each year since. These numbers put me in the enviable top few percentage points of all Realtors in the area. Here are some of the reasons I think I am successful:Go to Alamoliving Main Menu
